The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party enter locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
