Vehicles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Officers stated they were contacted by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state preliminary tests show the liquid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.

City officials said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A senior official commented the attack rendered him speechless and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
